A big thank you to the Duke Energy Foundation for their generous $40,000 grant in support of both Take Stock in Children and Grants for Great Ideas during the 2025–2026 school year.
Through this contribution, Duke Energy is helping create brighter futures for students and educators across our community.
A portion of the grant will support Take Stock in Children (TSIC), which provides low-income, at-risk youth the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty. Students in the program receive college and career planning, mentoring, and career exploration experiences that prepare them for high-demand, high-paying careers.
The grant will also fund Grants for Great Ideas (GFGI), which empowers K–12 teachers to bring innovative projects to life in their classrooms. These projects enrich curriculum with hands-on learning experiences and provide access to technologies and resources that students—especially those in high-need schools—may not otherwise have.
Duke Energy is a longstanding partner of the Foundation, supporting us with grants and sponsorships. Their employees also support the Foundation by volunteering as mentors, and serving on our committees and our board of directors. Thank you for your support!
