The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools is honored to announce that the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation (OMYF) has awarded a $50,000 grant to support our Take Stock in Children program during the 2025–2026 school year. This grant will provide at-risk youth in Seminole County with the mentoring, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed in school and prepare for future college and career pathways.
Creating Opportunities for At-Risk Youth
Through this program, students receive one-on-one mentoring, college and career readiness programming, and exposure to opportunities that help them break the cycle of poverty. The OMYF’s investment ensures more students have the support and encouragement they need to reach their full potential and achieve brighter futures.
A Season of Giving Across Central Florida
This grant is part of the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation’s extraordinary $1.6 million commitment to Central Florida nonprofits this season. Between August 18–22, OMYF distributed its first set of grants to 18 organizations across Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Volusia counties. Each organization received a surprise visit from Orlando Magic representatives who delivered a bronze basketball keepsake and an OMYF check presentation.
“On behalf of the entire DeVos family and the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation, we are honored to champion meaningful causes that uplift and empower youth across the Orlando community each year,” said Dan DeVos, chairman of the Orlando Magic and OMYF. “Helping others reach their full potential has been a multigenerational priority for our family and the Magic organization. It’s incredibly fulfilling to come alongside so many deserving organizations making a lasting impact for children throughout Central Florida. We truly admire their tireless efforts—they are the real heroes.”
Expanding Impact Beyond Grants
In addition to direct funding, OMYF is offering professional development opportunities to all grantee organizations for the first time this year. These programs—such as Developing Annual Sustainability from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and Drop the Mic executive public speaking training—equip nonprofit partners with tools to strengthen organizational sustainability, leadership, fundraising, and communications. This investment in capacity building will ensure nonprofits can maximize their impact on children and families throughout Central Florida.
Thank You, Orlando Magic Youth Foundation
The Foundation for SCPS is deeply grateful to the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation for their generous $50,000 grant and ongoing commitment to youth in our community. With their support, we are able to expand opportunities for our students.
