The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office recently donated a $30,000 grant to our Take Stock in Children program and Midway Safe Harbor. Through these two programs these funds will be supporting our at-risk students and some of Seminole County’s at most vulnerable students.

With proven results, Take Stock in Children (TSIC) offers deserving, at-risk students a chance to escape the cycle of poverty through education. Throughout high school, students participating in weekly mentor meetings, skill-building workshops and the support of a College Success Coach to keep them on track then upon graduation they are awarded a two-year scholarship.

Midway Safe Harbor’s after-school community program addresses the disadvantages of the local youth: an above average number of students who live in or near poverty level, who have below grade-level proficiency in reading, math and science, who are in need of credit recovery to graduate and who are at risk of dropping out of school.

Thank you to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office for supporting some of Seminole County’s most vulnerable students. With The Foundation, they are helping to ensure today’s students are tomorrow’s productive citizens and thus the overall vitality of the Seminole County community!
