We are proud to share exciting news and extend our sincere gratitude to The Able Trust, in partnership with the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations (CFEF), for a $10,000 Futures in Focus grant supporting the STEP (Seminole Transition Education Program) Into Employment initiative.
Through this statewide investment by The Able Trust, students with disabilities in Seminole County will gain meaningful opportunities to explore college pathways, workforce training, and in-demand careers. The Futures in Focus program serves students in grades 8–12 and is designed to help them envision and plan for life after high school with confidence and purpose.
This grant supports the vision of the SCPS Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Department, which created STEP Into Employment to provide targeted, intentional guidance throughout the college and career exploration process. With this funding, our foundation will help coordinate:
- College campus visits
- Employer and industry tours
- Career-readiness workshops
- Connections with Florida Department of Education Vocational Rehabilitation
Together, these experiences empower students with disabilities to navigate pathways toward meaningful employment and achieve their career aspirations.
