The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools is deeply grateful to AdventHealth, with the support of partners Orlando Magic and Florida Citrus Sports, for their generous $63,000 grant dedicated to supporting students and families experiencing food insecurity across Seminole County.
This investment provided funding to every school in Seminole County Public Schools, ensuring students who rely on school meals continue to have access to nutritious food during the upcoming holiday season, when school cafeterias are closed. The grant also strengthens additional emergency and expanded food resources through the district’s FIN (Families In Need) program, helping schools respond quickly to families facing unexpected hardship.
Food insecurity remains one of Central Florida’s most urgent challenges. More than half of school-aged children in the region rely on schools for their daily nutrition, making extended breaks especially difficult for families. Through this generous support, students can return from winter break healthier, more secure, and ready to learn.
This grant is part of a broader regional effort as AdventHealth, Orlando Magic, and Florida Citrus Sports unite with community partners to ensure children across Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties are fed when school is out. The initiative also includes AdventHealth’s “Drive Out Hunger” Holiday Bus, which will travel throughout December to community events, schools, hospitals, and sporting events to collect canned goods and non‑perishable food items. With the support of Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, all donations will be delivered directly to school food pantries and trusted community partners.
“Helping children and families feel whole starts with meeting their most basic needs, and that includes access to healthy food,” said Sharon Line Clary, senior vice president of Community Impact and Partnership Engagement at AdventHealth. “We’re honored to lead such an amazing initiative, one that truly reflects the heart of our community: people and partners uniting to lift up one another and ensure all of our neighbors feel whole this holiday season.”
“Strong schools are built on strong communities, and we are so grateful for AdventHealth who shares our commitment to caring for the whole child,” said Serita Beamon, Superintendent of Seminole County Public Schools. “Their generous support of our school food pantries will help ensure that students have access to meals when they’re off campus. This investment strengthens our community and provides critical support for our most vulnerable students and families.”
On behalf of the students, families, and educators of Seminole County Public Schools, thank you to AdventHealth, Orlando Magic, and Florida Citrus Sports for your leadership, compassion, and commitment to caring for our community. Your partnership is making a meaningful difference—providing nourishment, stability, and hope to those who need it most.
