We are deeply grateful to the State of Florida for its continued investment in public education through the State of Florida’s School District Education Foundation Matching Grant. As part of a $7 million statewide appropriation, our foundation has been awarded $147,296.45 to match private dollars 1:1 raised locally—doubling the impact of community support for Seminole County Public Schools.
These matching funds will support the following Foundation programs:
- Tools 4 Seminole Schools
- Grants 4 Great Ideas
- Seminole Resilient Community Project
- Environmental Studies Center / MudWalk
The State of Florida’s School District Education Foundation Matching Grant, facilitated by the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations, is a powerful example of how public-private partnerships strengthen local education. While the Consortium administers the program, the State of Florida is the source of the funding, ensuring that private contributions raised in our community go twice as far in supporting students, teachers, and classrooms.
For more than 20 years, this Matching Grant program has provided a dollar-for-dollar incentive for local education foundations to raise private contributions for eligible projects. Since its inception, the program has generated more than $173 million in combined state and private funding, supporting initiatives that:

- Serve students across Florida
- Promote literacy
- Encourage STEM and career and technical education
- Increase classroom innovation
- Support teachers
- Improve graduation rates
The Consortium of Florida Education Foundations, established in 1987, is the statewide membership organization for school district-wide local education foundations. It connects individuals, organizations, and financial resources to strengthen local foundations and advance student success throughout Florida.
In the most recent year alone, the School District Education Foundation 1:1 Matching Grant program:
- Generated a total investment of $17,574,275
- Matched $7 million in state funds with over $10 million in private-sector investment
- Supported 109 projects across 60 school districts
- Served 99% of Florida’s K–12 public school students
We extend our sincere appreciation to Governor Ron DeSantis, Sen. Brodeur, Rep. Smith, Rep. Plakon, Rep. Plasencia, and Rep. Bankson for their continued commitment to Florida’s students.
