While many families spend the summer enjoying vacations or relaxing at the beach, the reality is quite different for thousands of students in Seminole County. When school lets out, many of the support systems that students rely on – like daily meals, a safe learning environment, and access to basic essentials- disappear.
With more than 3,4000 students experiencing homelessness at the end of the 2024-2025 school year and rising costs of basic essentials, the need for summer support is more important than ever. You can help students this summer by donating to provide emergency food, clothing and hygiene items. In addition, your support will help purchase new backpacks and school supplies that are distributed to 3,500 students in need as they head back to school in August, giving them the opportunity to start class ready to learn.
How You Can Help
We hope you’ll consider a donation to support our summer programs. The prices we pay for school supplies and basic essentials has increased the past few years, so your support is more important than ever. For the biggest impact throughout the school year, consider a recurring gift by selecting “Make this a monthly recurring donation.” Your gift will help ensure ALL students have the resources to be successful. Below are a few examples of the impact your donation can help make. . .
$50 – Provides emergency weekend food for 1 student
$100 – Equips 4 students with new backpacks and supplies
$500 – Restocks a school food pantry
