SUPPORT THE MUDWALK SPOOKY 5K 

TO BENEFIT THE SCPS

ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES CENTER

It’s Halloween! Costumes are Welcome!

When:

Saturday, October 31, 2015

On-site Registration: 7 a.m.

Race Start: 8 a.m.

Pancake Breakfast: 8:30 a.m.

Open House: 9 a.m. until Noon

Location:

The 5K starts at the Environmental Studies Center, 2985 Osprey Trail, Longwood, FL 32750, across CR419 from Soldiers Creek Park ball fields. Park in Soldiers Creek Park (the ball fields) and walk across highway 419 at the Cross Seminole Trail crosswalk. There will be a Sheriff’s Officer there to assist you.

The course runs behind the Center on the Cross Seminole Trail for 1.5K and back. Then participants go “off road” for 1K and back on the spooky, scenic Osprey Trail. Those who want to run only on pavement may repeat 1K and back on the paved trail.  To download a map, CLICK HERE.

Pancake Breakfast:

All participants are invited to the Environmental Studies Center after their run to enjoy a complimentary pancake breakfast. Spectators are welcome to join in for a donation. Donations are always welcome!

Open House:

The Environmental Studies Center will be open to the public. Visit the Natural History Museum and the Nature Store from 9 a.m. until Noon.

T-Shirts:

All registered participants will receive an event-day t-shirt. Shirt sizes and availability are not guaranteed for registrations after October 14th.

Timing:

This event will NOT be officially timed. There will be a time clock at the start/finish line but no official results will be calculated.

Awards:

High School – Adult Awards: first 10 females and first 10 males who complete the run.

 Middle & Elementary Awards: first 3 females and first 3 males who complete the run.

Traveling Trophy:

Traveling Trophies will be awarded to the SCPS elementary school, middle school and high school with the most participation (staff & students).

About this Event:

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Seminole County Environmental Studies Center.

Restrictions:

For safety reasons, in-line skates, skateboards and dogs will not be allowed in the race. Headphones are discouraged. Baby-joggers and strollers will be allowed; however, are required to start at the back of the starting coral.

Early Packet Pick Up:

Pre-race packet pick-up will be Friday, October 30, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Environmental Studies Center, 2985 Osprey Trail, Longwood, FL 32750, across CR419 from Soldiers Creek Park ball fields.

Packets will be available at the Center on race day starting at 7 a.m.

Registration:

(All registration is non-refundable)

Adults 18 & Up:

$25 through October 24*

$30 October 25 – October 30

$35 Day of Race (Cash or credit card only)

Youth 17 & Under:

$15 through October 24*

$20 October 25 – 30 and Day of Race (Cash or credit card only)

Sleep-In Option:

Want to contribute to this event but not interested in getting up early? Participate in our “Sleep-In” option. Register for the event by choosing the “Sleep-In” option for $20 and pick your t-shirt size. The morning of the event you can stay snuggled in bed knowing you have contributed and will also get a t-shirt!*

*Register by October 14th to ensure t-shirt size. For later registration, t-shirts will be available only while supplies last.
